Got A Plan/Borowski's Egg
(Spoken)

Hello boys and girls
Are you okay?
Sitting comfortably?
That's good
This?
This is Borowski's Egg

Borowski is a chicken
I bought here for £2 from a battery farm
They were going to kill her
Because she was over a year old
So I saved her
And now, she lives in my garden
She lays an egg for me
Every morning

She has three friends too
They are called Babs, Miss Millie
And Pelakinako
They came from the same battery farm
Pelakinako is very shy
But Miss Millie likes to peck my toes
Whenever I sit outside

Borowski
That's a funny name for a chicken, isn't it?
Well, there was a man called Borowski
He lived in Poland in the 1940's
Some people didn't like him
Because of his heritage
(Even though there was nothing wrong with his heritage)
And so they sent him to Auschwitz
A nasty, nasty place

Borowski wrote a book
About all the horrible things that happened to him
And everyone else in Auschwitz too
But still
He was so sad
He didn't want to be alive anymore
So he gassed himself
In an oven

When I found out
That chickens were kept in the dark
In cages so small they couldn't stand up
It made me think of Borowski's book
And the bad ways people treat other living things
So, to honour the man
I named the chicken Borowksi

I'm very thankful to both of them
One of them lays me eggs
That I can eat for breakfast every morning
The other wrote a book
To show us that bad things happen
And we should do good things
Whenever we can
