Water In My Shoes

By Wolf Maahn (1988)

Third Language (Remastered)
Felt my room was closing in on me
Took a train down to the coast
Tired of TV-shadows dancing on the wall
I was hoping to find that the wild wild sky
Would give shelter to me
Been pushed around in that busy town too long

They say I gotta win but make me wanna lose
I'd rather be a castaway with a lonely point of view
Waiting for the tide to tell me what to do
I'm walking through this brave new world with water
In my shoes

They built a wall in the water
And took land back from the sea
But they built cities in the swinging 1960's
That didn't even last into the early 70's
I wonder what they plan to built from me

They say I gotta win but make me wanna lose
I'd rather be a castaway with a lonely point of view
Waiting for the tide to tell me what to do
How to leave my lsland without water in my shoes

But all I touch seems out of reach
When the shadows com to follow me... along the shore

Sitting on a concrete wall see the tide coming in
Better take the last train back to town

They say I gotta win but I don't think I'd lose
Being just a castaway with a lonely point of view
One day at a time collecting all the clues
Of how to walk on water without water in my shoes
