All hope absolved
Licking my wounds
Abandoned I sit
Feeling hollow and worthless
Searching for something
To numb out the throes
Yearning for darkness
So I can wallow alone

Self degradation, filling a void
It's so damn easy to grit my teeth and smile
Never was one for the bright side of things
But this life's not what I dreamed
This self imposed exile must come to an end
All that is left is for me to give in

All that I have is all that I know
You see only what I show

Backwards I crawl
Away from the light
Unnerving torment
Keeps me from sight
Yearning for solace
Has untethered me
Seeding the idea
Has set me free

Regeneration, finding a home
It's too damn easy to grit my teeth and smile

I wandered through the black only to find no answers
Lost in a search of self, this compass points to nowhere
I haven't slept in days, my own reflection shutters
Lost all self control, I need you more than ever before

And when I stood up tall, these old foundations crumbled
I sunk well below and settled in the wreckage
You offered me your hand and pulled me to the surface
