Home From The Blymm

We won the Blymm and that was great.
Gave a hug,
Congratulate.

Time to paddle up the creek,
Past the falls to take a peek
At all the sights we'd missed before
‘Cause eyes were set on Blymm's great roar.

“Lift the boat!” Each gave a sigh,
Climbing skyward through Blymm's sky.

Of mists and sound and dreaded noise,
Gals helped gals and boys helped boys.

Slip'ry rocks and cold, cold stream
Against their legs. Some gave a scream

Till dragon boat again set sail.
With paddles up the sweep said,”Go!”
Then waters flail

Faster than the current went.
Shoulders dug while backs were bent

The craft moved on and, gaining pace,
Blasted forth as if through space.

Mountains towered overhead
Clean crisp air clears the head

Past the rapids, Rocks exposed,
Monkeys, donkeys, horses posed.

Rats would scurry near the rocks
And rabbits grazed beside the ox.

Dogs were safe from snakes up there
Where tigers lapped In cool clear air

Rooster flapped a wing or two
As our dragon passed with its great crew.

The pirate gave commands to dig
Through waters turbid Past the pig.

Then, “Drag the dragon
‘Cross the sand, over rocks to safer land.”

We hadn't seen a goat on Blymm;
No horns nor beard nor bleat from him

We found ourselves back home again
Limbs still wet from Blymm's great fen.

The pirate seemed a bit remote.
The words he used are hard to quote.
Horns grew from his forehead now,
And cloven hooves stood on the prow!

Bum-to-bum and cheek-to-cheek
We'd paddled back up great Blymm Creek.

No crowds to cheer nor camera's tweak
Just, “Pack ‘er up until next week.”
