INTRO
One time for your mind / Two times for your life!
It's for my powder custard niggers (Shout out to Illite Emcee)
REST IN PEACE SITHO (RIP : 02 May 1992 - 27 March 2013)
I'm from a zone of black fellows / full of broke and sad workers / who look closely at debt letters and go yeah whatever!
VERSE 1!
It's the life we live the modern day struggle / The high bills, enormous rates they charge too / It's the cycle of fees, we on a daily hustle / Prices increase, we forced to pay double / on the items and purchases / The prices of services / are highly expensive / So what you find in the purses / is likely to be credit / financing the spendings / No funds for that good / Where is ABSA to the rescue? / Knowledge of the numbers and values is often lacked / It starts with the shortest term / couple of borrowed grands / A lot tend to ignore the interest that the loan will incur / From affording the cred, before we know it we trapped / Owing the banks, that's how most black go slowly into debt / It's really sad that more of us / can't pay back the loan sum / Double the principal from the month it got issued / One of those issues that beat you / but the struggles continues!
HOOK!
It's the rates the fees / the plate the meal / You got to pay the bills / This is In Debt In Depth / The figures the rands / The interest incurred / on the principal debt / This is in debt in depth!
VERSE 2!
We money chasing / but we failing to grasp its basics / Hardly saving the income made on monthly basis / My payslip makes me relate with what mommy was facing / The household account she holds amounts to 0 / Can barely afford fees / Credit outweigh deposits / Debit orders, heavy awful obligations to honour / Early mornings but empty pockets are carried forward / Disposable income / is more of an insult / Usually pushing these dreams you deal with tuition fees / Huge debt the youth is in / since sis graduated / Moms thinks she'll save her but the system enslaved her / A victim of fees and rates that keep fluctuating / NSFAS re-payments before she can start with her savings / Out of the passage then goes, that college hope / Was supposed to sup' the folks but when they starve at home / It's hard to cope cos now she got her own mortgage loan!
HOOK!
VERSE 3!
It's like the monthly cheques / is to keep us in debt / Salaries taxed, for government SANRAL and the rest / Not enough sufficient funds for one to invest / The day after / we pay is harder / than nails hammered / Black ordinary victims trapped by the monetary system / In debt, normal exceeding the set borrowing limits / Masses that deal with, effects of the economy swinging / Depressing spiralling rand / Credit is widely spread / Hard paying the final cent / non-ending cycle of debt / When it's in crises it's felt by the ordinary citizens / The Jozi cost of living never stops increasing / Harsh conditions / forced to deal with debt consequences / A few in business made it, they were soon liquidated / Dues inflated / Overdrafts / Loan sharks, we owe a lot / See liabilities as assets / many die insolvent / In dire need of help as our lives sink in more debt!
HOOK!
