Last grading result

A couple of weeks ago I graded my third pattern of Fujian White Crane Kung Fu. That pattern is called SHI ZI (The Cross).

So today the grading results came out and I find to my great happiness that I passed it. This means that I can now start learning the fourth pattern (...surprisingly :) which is called SHI SAN TAI BAO (Thirteen Wonders). Interesting!

This does not mean that I get a different sash like they do in Japanese martial arts. No, you get a sash when you've passed your first grading and then you keep that until you become a master and get the black sash. However, if you're an instructor you wear a blue sash.

The good news is that I passed. The bad news is that I didn't get a first. Close but not close enough.

This now completes my second year of my Mathematics with Computer Science degree I'm taking a City University

I'm not happy. My standards are very high and what pisses me off the most is that I got such poor results in the courses I found so easy, like Imperative Programming and Software Engineering. I can count the number of times I've come across something even near challanging in Imperative Programming course on my left hand.

I know it sounds cockey but it's the truth. What I must have lost marks on is probably silly semantics or other anal details that does not matter to real programmers.

Lots of little Agent Smiths

Lots of little Agent Smiths This was funny. Lots of Japanese people dress up like Agent Smith to promote the release of Matrix Reloaded film where Agent Smith can clone himself many times over.

Few of them look like Agent Smith but at least some of them have tried to buy matching sunglasses. There are some really funny pictures on their site.

The "omit-tag" tag

When I wrote the IssueTrackerProduct that was very early in the development of the TAL implementation by Evan Simpson.

Back then the "omit-tag" tag to TAL didn't exist. Or maybe it was about to but the version I was using didn't.

This solves some problems with TAL that I've had.
